Basicly, Maverick Hunter HQ was just attacked by err... things(cant give there names away yet, it might ruin the plot). X and Zero where the only survivors. They where chased into a portal. The portal obviously leads them to the tornament.

bittage mix = nono. Those sprites are entirely 16-bit. The MMX was edited to be 16-bit. I found them on TSD
